This is a Kortling from Gottingen. Roman numerals for the date.
XCI with the "C" looking like a backwards "B".

Not encouraging. Anyone know an Islamist specialist for this period ? I don't.

At the Coin Community Forum they waited on one date for over
five months. They've been waiting on a 1464 since Christmas of
2018. In hopes of finding a collector/collectors to move us past 1464
we might need to space out our posts. Otherwise the Rule #8 will
    take affect. Any thoughts?

Maybe someone who collects Oriental ( Chinese, Japanese )
could help us. There maybe other calendar systems that I'm
    not familiar with.

Just thinking out loud here. For example, if you go back and read the actual rules that started this -

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/game-world-coins-time-machine…-counting-backward-by-year-plus-prize-coin.298151/

There's a couple of things you're going to find. For one, regarding the portion of the comment I underlined and bolded in the quote above - there are no requirements in the rules that the coin you post has to be in your collection.

    And then there's this -

Based on that, and what I mentioned above, it seems to me that Curtisimo provided a way, perhaps two ways, out of this dilemma.

You asked for thoughts, those are mine.

I was under the impression that the picture of the coin that was being
posted, that the poster owned that coin, whether it is me or someone
else. Are you saying that I can research CoinArchives and post pictures
of needed coins without physically owning them? It's still early so please
be patient. You may need to simplify a bit more.

That's why I posted a link to the 1st post that started this thread. It does not sate that in the rules. It doesn't even imply it.

Yes ! At least based on what is stated in the rules. That's my whole point, as the rules are written that method could be used to keep the game going. And coupled what I quoted from Curtisimo - the play it by ear part - it is implied that that would be acceptable.

But, it must be understood that one can't violate copyright law and simply post somebody else's picture. But you can link to it by using the Image icon in the tool bar - and that does not violate copyright.

OK. Thank you very much for clearing this up. If someone can give an
example regarding the last paragraph concerning copyright law on how to post
a pic please do so. @GDJMSP Thank You!!

It's quite simple. Once you find an image you want to post, left click on the image and then select Copy Image Address. As an example, I'm using the last pic you posted here.

Once you have copied the image address, then here in your posting box, simply click on the Image icon in the tool bar, it's the one to the immediate right of the smiley face icon. Once you click on it, it looks like this -

    upload_2019-5-25_14-37-22.png

Once that's open, then simply place your cursor in the line where it says Image URL, left click and select Paste. Then click on the Insert button.

Once you do that, the image appears in your post just as it did above - all there is to it :)

And you are not violating copyright law by doing this because you are not copying the picture and not downloading the picture. All you are doing is linking to the picture where it already exist in its original location. And there is no law against linking to anything.

From the Graz mint. The "0" is very tiny, barely discernable.

I have never owned a pre-1500 dated coin before.

Until this afternoon's mail was opened and I found a surprise package from @tibor.

Inside was a 1477 spitzgroschen from Saxony!

Twelve years after buying the Levinson book, I finally have my first Levinson-listed coin!

    Wow, thank you, @tibor!

So if I remember to check this thread, I'll have something to play when we move back a few more years.

I don't have a picture of it presently. Will take some.

Here is a 1475 of the same type I was thinking about bidding on. Looks like I missed the pre-sale bidding.

The Tibor coin is not as high grade as that auction example, but it was... free!

This is a Double Patard. Levinson does not list a mint. It has been
some time since I posted any images. Todd @blu62vette takes all
the pictures for me. He does a superb job. I was taking a break with
the hope of some others sharing their treasures. With the start of
    summer family time comes first.

This copper/billon coin was struck at the Ghent mint. It is
a Double Mite. This is an up-grade for me. Early Dated
copper coins are rare/very rare. For now I'll keep the lesser
    piece as well.

Wow, look how clear and relatively "modern" looking the date numerals are on that. And on the "Flandern" (Flanders?) coin above it, too. No little "curlicue" 4s there.

@lordmarcovan Two years later they reverted back to the "medieval" 4
at the Ghent mint 1491 II-128. The Mulheim mint produced only two
coins after this , one in 1489 with a modern 4, and a piece in 1500. In
1483 they produced two coins, a Bausche with Roman numerals and a
half Bausche with modern numbers. In 1482 the same occurred except
that the smaller coin had a medieval "4".
