I think this one follows under rule #4.

" 4. The coin should be datable to a specific year by some mark or characteristic. It doesn’t necessarily need to be minted with a written date as long as it can be confidently dated to a year. No date ranges (Ex.: a coin datable to 1630-1636 would not be usable). Feel free to share with us anything interesting about the dating of the coin in your post."

If it's a known date that should work. Plus it's cool. I learn something new with every coin posted!

Has anyone made a decision on 1500 coin? Just curious.

Considering it was struck in 1500/ though not dated, I would think such a delightfully beautifull piece should pass as a 1500.:):):):):):):)

Struck at the Namur mint. While the over all coin is rough the
date is rather clear. Since I collect Early Dated coins the condition
of the date is important with the condition of the rest of the coin
being secondary. You will see that I have many pieces that need
upgrading. Even though a coin might be listed as common or
scarce, they do not appear very frequently for auction.

The reference number should read II-144. This one
from the Antwerp mint. This is a Florin d'or

This was produced at Damm mint. Starting in 1488,
    Pommerania produced Schillings like this.

This 4 Groten comes from the Bremen mint. This piece
is one of the most available for the date. That's
    St. Peter on the throne.

I predict you will be the dominant poster from here on back.

Unless I buy something, I'm out, as mentioned.

But maybe it's time to add my first Levinson-listed coin, eh? ;)

I bought the book a decade ago and still have it. Have yet to own a single coin listed in it. Not for lack of browsing.

I agree, Tibor is the "Emperor of early dated coinage" i find that it is extremely rare to find these in FDC, Islamic early dated are common in MS quality.

I was hoping that some new, never before seen coins, at least
to us on the forum, might be posted. So many here have posted
some truly nice coins. I thought that there maybe a few that
bought a piece or two over the years and would take this opportunity
    to share them.

I agree, the 15th century clearly belongs to Tibor, unless an Islamist gets involved...and even then. I have a few undated 15th coins but only 2 dated ones which qualify for this thread, 1494 and 1484.

Notice the modern "4" in the date. Can't
    wait to upgrade this piece.
