WOW!! I can't believe that we are stuck for the last two weeks. I'll
try to get to the SDB and take a few pics. Life right now is crazy. I
just looked back and it took 2.5 months to go 13 years. Hopefully
someone will get this going again.

Well, I hope everyone will forgive me. Number one, I missed 1520; for some god-awful reason, I haven't got "update" emails and figured out how to get back here just last night. So, here my Hungarian one-denar (EH 673n). [Number two], I'll submit this one as an intermission until we hear from tibor or some one else. Great pieces, y'all!

@DEA and others please keep posting. I don't have pics of my coins until we hit 1499. The main focus of my collection is pre 1500 dated coins . Any post 1500 would be a few Morgan dollars. Thanks again @DEA .

Just a comment - I'm amazed that you guys have gotten this far ! I mean that's 500 years of coins without missing a single year.

My hat's off to ya folks !

I am proud of all you guys! I have run out of old coins now, and am just watching as it goes along. Maybe I could buy more, just to keep it going...

Okayyyy . . . While we continue this intermission ("Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobbyyy . . and get ourselves a treat!"), I submit for your entertainment another Hungarian piece. It's not dated and doesn't count here. So, just for grins and giggles, here is a piece that was minted somewhere between 1235 and 1270. My knowledge is limited but here's what I know. It's a denar minted during the reign of one King Bela IV (you can google it from there). The obverse is a tower between two lilies (lilies I associate with France and many western Germany cities, such as Wiesbaden), with a star under a crescent. The reverse is a Hebrew letter in a floral wreath (so I've read).

I am back home after a long trip to Asia and Australia. I can offer a 1517 coin although not in very good condition:

I think we were a day away from the end of the contest (going by the OP...30 days without a new coin)! Awesome coin, and now we get to enjoy the thread just a little bit longer.

Does anyone know any Islamic specialists ? We need to get them involved or this thread will die fairly soon, even before we get a chance to see all @tibor's pre-1500 coins

I never ever purchase coins from the mint, modern coin designs do not appeal to me.
However, if I had been alive in 1517 He
I got quite a few, I will check AH dates to Christian dates.

OK, The dates on these two denars are 1515 and 1514. These are the best
I can do with the phone I have. I can get us to 1503 with the exception of
    1510. I don't have 1502,1501 or 1500. I know that I posted two dates this time and
I will for the others, but it is the best I can do. I will post 1513 and 1512
    on Monday.

I like these denars. The KG mintmark (=Kremnitz, Georgius Thurzo, Kammergraf in Kremnitz 1509-16) is not so common.

I can help with quite a few of the remaining 16th century years, including 1502 & 1500, but I also don't have anything for 1510.

Here is my contribution for 1514.
