@panzerman Your 1585 Dukat shows St. Christopher
carrying the Christ child across a river during a storm.
Whether there really was a St. Christopher is still debated
today. The name Christopher translates loosely to
Christ holder/bearer. Real or not St. Christopher has been
adopted as the patron of travelers in most Christian religions.

I enjoy this thread and like adding when I can. That said, I am tapped out until the 1560's.

I'm queued up behind Chris B. I'm out until 1567. But I rather enjoy seeing your awesome coins and learning so god-awful much interesting things. Thanks to all! Keep it up. Please!

Hmmm ... that's interesting. Your last coin was in 1592. My last coin was in 1592. My next coin is 1575 and so is yours. Some coincidence. I have one more after that 1571.

I can play all years from 1581 to 1574, then a gap until 1555

We've already had a 1582 (top of this page from @panzerman ) so play on with your 1581!
I have a few more after 1575 - back to 1554 when I am out (at the moment!).

Thank goodness. I found myself shopping on eBay this morning for something dated 1581. Then thought, what are you doing.
