I guess no one has a 1639, so lets skip to 1638

For the sake of the OP's contest rule #3 'no skipping'...as long as everyone keeps track and remembers that Panzerman will be the prize winner (assuming no 1639s show up within the allotted time frame).

That said, I'd love to see this thread go back as far as possible...this is no time to abandon the hunt. I confess to bidding on a coin far outside my normal domain as the date was in the 1500s and I was hoping the thread would get that far (and it was cool and would have been an enjoyable purchase).

Hear hear! Well said, Pi Stork. I have a 1519 I bought in hopes of possibly being the oldest/earliest date. I guess the op will call it and we will abide by that decision.

@Curtisimo - did we get a winner when things stalled at 1639?

I propose that even if @panzerman won, we should play on, prize or not. I actually just got caught up in the fun of this thread and forgot it was a contest with a prize.

The rules do say "Once the thread has been inactive for 30 days (I.E. no new coins played) the member (other than me) who played the last coin with the earliest date that falls within the rules will win the OP coin!"

I would like to continue also, but if we continue now, someone may not know that a 1639 is waiting to be played. A month is a loooong time to wait, considering all the interest in this thread. Maybe some wait time in between.
