Is that the exact split of each? Seems a pretty clean split, not one coin of either Proof or Unc above or over the thousand mark. I'd be wary of those figures. Plus how can you say they sold out, they are selling on ebay. LOL!
in order to recover the cost that you bought from u.s mint the modern commemorative silver dollar coins during 1980's to 90's. silver have to go up to $28.50 an ounce at least. so you can have your money back. 0.77344 x 28.50/oz = $22.04 bullion value. apmex currently bid price: $22.04 + $0.99 = $23.03 each.
Well, as Tom Leherer famously sang: "If you're looking for adventure of a new and different kind, and you come across a girlscout who is similarly inclined....Don't be nervous, don't be flustered don't be scared! Be Prepared!!!!
Ok folks, lets fire this thread back up and look forward to 2011. Here are a couple of articles about the commemoratives coming along next year. I am interested to hear ideas and opinions on the Medal of Honor Commemorative designs http://news.coinupdate.com/medal-of-honor-commemorative-coin-designs-0302/ and the US Army Commemorative designs http://news.coinupdate.com/united-states-army-commemorative-coin-designs-0296/. Look forward to your input!
Don't know why but I'm looking forward to the 2011 Medal of Honor coins. I'm not sure but maybe a $5 gold proof. I would love to see a Silver Proof and $5 Gold Proof set.
