Just in! New to me Ancient ptolemaic coins, a famous and well known coin featuring twin eagles and Zeus! These were bought as my first ptolemaic coin, I wanted something special, different from the normal and a curiosity! These are two coins fused together, found in a very wet environment in Egypt. Interesting pair, with good detail still popping through! Anyone here have any fused ancient coins? Post em if you got em!
Yeah, at some point the coins were in a wet environment. Lake, river, puddle for all I know! Water exists in Egypt!
That's cool, @AdamsCollection ! No fused coins here, but it's something I would acquire for my own collection.
Do you think it might be possible to pop those two coins apart to see what the other sides look like? Bronze is pretty strong, probably stronger than whatever is holding them together. Then again, both sides are pretty worn, so it might be cooler to leave as they are.
