Very cool. I like the map too, bet he is having fun coloring in new countries.

Speaking of new countries, I see the DRC Democratic Republic of Congo is still white. I have a coin I would like to donate to fill this hole

Haha no. That was a print from the internet. It isn’t 100% up-to-date since it is missing a few countries, south sudan comes to mind. But it works for what he is doing. I was trying to talk him into using he numista map online but he likes to keep things oldschool I guess lol.

 

Old school is good. Must take after his Dad.......

 

@furryfrog02 good on you for teaching the kids right.

I'm not so sure it's possible to have one all inclusive correct map to detail his entire collection. If it is a current map then all the current countries and their borders will be easy to outline. The problem is that the older, non existent countries will have no place on the current map.

Conversely, if the map is an older map, Jr. will be able to fill in the older coins, but not the current coins.

First world problems. Have fun!

 

I was thinking of also getting him a checklist of all the countries in the world so that he can check them off as he goes. Perhaps adding a section for countries that no longer exist as well as a place to add new ones as they crop up
