It looks like its AU. Edit: Look at his page for more "uncirculated" pennies.
I wonder if he has an illegitimate slab company. He puts in slab that says: ms65, piece of gum on it, giant friction mark, and wear...
Well at least he realized there is a problem with one of the XF wheat cents he is trying to sell, called it "Uncirculated full details", whatever that means... I predict his feedback to drop to 96% in a few weeks.
His photos clearly show the reality of his offerings, and while I can see why one may find his descriptions "funny", his listings are not a "scam" per se. This is little different, other than the level and type of "deception" (fluff), from countless other ebay dreck peddlers, most of whom can cause more harm and loss than this guy with his mostly $0.49 "pennies". If this is funny, you've a LOT of laughing to do.
Who's getting scammed though? If it sells for 49c (98c incl shipping) he'll net 10 or 11c after fees and postage (unless a buyer wins several auctions).
I just see a buyer and a seller who may not have the greatest of knowledge in collecting, not really seeing a scam...
The description might be inaccurate, but as others have stated, I don't think he is trying to "scam". His photos are very clear and it's not an item that will sell for substantial money anyway. He would have to repeat this thousands of times to make any real money. Real scammers tend to go after the larger, less frequent score and waste little time.
When I see an auction like this...I can't help myself but message the seller and as a question. Normally, I get ignored...but sometimes I get good answers. I sent him the following question: We will see if I get a response.
No "scam" here, just an ignorant seller. ig·no·rant ˈignərənt/ adjective adjective: ignorant lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
Net 10cents on 1cent that is a 900% return. He can't make a living at it but will never get that in a savings account LOL
Well...like I said before. I sent him a message about the condition of this coin and this is the response I got back: I guess I got myself blocked. I sent the following reply:
