I'm more of a coin collector but I get the odd currency. Love this design and the wear just gives it an awesome look.
I collect everything. And unfortunately it just has to be pretty to end up in my collection. So its rather large but most of it is junk. Lol
If you like it, peaches, it's NOT junk! Collect what you want, not what someone else wants. I like your note. Bruce
I like it whether you found it or purchased it for a bit over 'face value'...although I go for the higher grades and preferably graded...I'm back into getting a few as a "type" collection...and I have picked up a few CSA notes in that regard... I love the artistry of the earlier notes...and the 'Horse-blankets' give everyone who sees them a 'shock'---hence, the old term 'FOLDING MONEY"... no other way to fit them in your wallet LOL
These notes are called funny backs due to the interesting and just plain awesome image on the back of the note. Bills previous to 1928 were much larger thus they are called "horse blankets" and Bills after this year have the reverse that we see on our $1 today, give or take.
Funny Backs were used on one dollar Silver Certificates for Series 1928, 1928A, 1928B, 1928C, 1928D, 1928E, and 1934. Series 1935 through 1957B one dollar Silver Certificates changed to a back very similar to today's Federal Reserve Notes.
