Hi all, Just curious do any others collect bills with cool serial numbers ? I have been doing this for a couple years now. I think its fun. I have quite a few. Don't really think their worth much. but just for fun.. post any you have. all in fun not value to me... Heres one I found yesterday.
I do. I found this one yesterday. I'm pretty sure the terminology a palindrome note, or a reverse radar note..... and then I found these two at the ATM this morning.
I like the 50 and 1 dollar trinary notes..... Even the consecutive ones.... But the consecutive star notes take the cake!
I would save all those consecutive New York B-J 2009 Federal Reserve Notes; they were printed in Washington, which makes them currently worth 2 bucks each. So just think how much they will be worth in 20 years. The B notes printed in Fort Worth are only face value right now.
If you ever see that prefix "HI" on a five dollar bill, hold on to it...... It was printed in Fort Worth for only 3 Fed. Reserve Districts. It's value is approaching 45. The other two are HG, and HF. Fort worth printed them before the colorized notes were printed in the same year.
I can't help collecting bills with interesting serial numbers, Radar Notes, Low Numbers, Binaries, Star Notes.. it's a sickness I guess... I don't buy them, I just keep them if I get one in circulation... Though I have purchased two notes that had the same serial number because I thought it was cool and figured I'd never find them in circulation... These are a few of the ones I've found. The last one is what I've heard referred to as a Birthday Bill, the serial number is 05 28 1961.. Not sure why I have this obsession but I save a lot of bills with cool serial numbers..maybe because it's cheap fun for a buck...
Good stuff guys. I run my wrinkled bills under warm water, too clean them up. drain the water a little .Then I lay them in the back part of a phone book to press them flat again. works pretty good...Have fun
Very nice...Theres something about a serial number...it talks to you...save me! I cant help myself. I look at every bill...lol. it is addictive
