    I suspect that depends on your purpose. You need to check such devices to see what field they cover. My microscope makes great images of coins smaller than 10mm diameter and I have some that size. Specialists wanting really close views of a mint mark may be well served while dollar collectors will find it less useful.
    Syracuse hemilitron 10mm diameter shot with 1920's vintage microscope. This is the largest coin that fits in the circle of the scope's image. This is pieced together from two separate shots.

    There is another on Amazon that has a 5MP unit for $75.99 but it is 20X-300X.

    I ask if the magnification could be reduced to 10X. The answer was yes, But I would have to swing the unit around and place on a book.

    because I wouldn't need to boot up my computer and I could save the images to the SD card and upload to my computer. With the HDMI and 1080P output I could even use it with a TV if I wanted. Of course I would need a USB extinction.
