    I would have ignored the messages, which no one else could see anyway, and moved on without comment. Of course, I prefer less drama with anonymous internet users than some folks.

    I agree with this.

    OP, posts like yours are red flags for buyers and will make them think you are a haughty loose cannon. You should have ignored the message if you disagreed.

    EBay doesn't care. You are not a major market force, so they don't care whether you stay or not.
