    Terms and Conditions

In accordance with these terms and conditions, Stack’s Bowers Galleries will pay grading fees to PCGS, NGC, PMG and PCGS Bank Note on behalf of its consignors. This promo- tion will be in effect from May 1, 2020 until April 30, 2021 or until $1 million of grading fees have been paid on behalf of our consignors (grading fees based on grading service retail pricing), whichever occurs first.
To qualify for free grading the following conditions must be satisfied: (1) coins or bank notes must be accepted by Stack’s Bowers Galleries for consignment, in its sole discretion; (2) the consignor must sign Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ standard Consignment Agreement, and (3) all consigned items must be offered without reserve. Stack’s Bowers Galleries reserves the right to return any item it considers inappropriate for its auctions in its sole discretion. Minimum item and/or consignment values may apply.
Free grading is available to consignors in Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ Collectors Choice Online Auctions, as well as its Showcase and Rarities Night presentations.
Please contact Stack’s Bowers Galleries for regrades, crossovers, errors, varieties, special issues, ancient coins or rarities as they may not qualify for free grading.
If your coins or currency are already certified, Stack’s Bowers Galleries welcomes them for consignment to our auctions. Please contact a consignment specialist today.
In addition to free grading, Stack’s Bowers Galleries offers generous cash advances. Please contact a consignment specialist to discuss details.
Stack’s Bowers Galleries reserves the right at any time to change these terms and condi- tions without notice or to suspend or terminate its free grading program.

Heritage does it too. Ya just gotta be selling the items. Free grading, yeah, but they ain't gonna be yours for long.

Basically, by sending in your coins for them to grade, you are agreeing to consign your coins for them to sell at no reserve. Meaning you can’t keep them after they are graded.

They also won't take just any old coins on consignment. They want coins which will attract an ardent bidding audience, and realize prices of several hundred dollars or more.

They did when it was just Bowers & Merena (separare from Stacks). They owned Hallmark for a short time.
