    142 FAUSTINA JR., Ankyra, Æ19, Cultus statue of Artemis of Ephesos, F-VF, obv sl off-ctr, dark,

    & moderately rough, lgnd wk; rev centered & bold, with only minor graininess.

    (A VF brought $201, Peus 4/11.)

    His pictures vs your pictures make the graininess look really bad. Yours are much better.

    Roman provincial Æ 19.1 mm, 3.81 g, 7 h.
    Phrygia, Ankyra, AD 147-165.
    Obv: ΦΑΥϹΤЄΙΝΑ ϹЄΒΑϹΤΗ, bare-headed and draped bust, right.
    Rev: ΑΝΚΥ-ΡΑΝΩΝ, cult statue of Ephesian Artemis standing facing, wearing kalathos, arms resting on supports and flanked by two stags.
    Refs: RPC IV.2, 1727 (temporary); BMC 25.64,35-36; RG 5644; Sear 1774; SNG Cop 142-143; SNG von Aulock 3436; SNG Munich 99-100.

    If you noticed my coin started at 1 o'clock ANKY-PANuN
    All the others started at 8 oclock

    Just engraved by a different die engraver. No difference in catalog number or attribution.

    You have to love catalog authors. Some will ignore something like this difference in where the legend starts while others will give a new number to a coin with an extra dot. Which do you think was engraved first - letters or the statue?
