    Sounds like you are correct:

"Copper Coins Notice: Coins made of copper, bronze, brass or are copper-plated can change over time. Accordingly, with regard to copper, bronze, brass or copper-plated coins graded by NGC, the grade portion will no longer apply after the 10 year anniversary of their date of encapsulation by NGC. This coin was encapsulated on 1/21/2000 and the grade guarantee will expire on 1/21/2010. If the grade guarantee has not expired, it may be extended by submitting the coin under NGC's ReHolder service tier. If the grade guarantee has expired, the coin will be treated as a raw (ungraded) submission if resubmitted to NGC."

Aha! Thanks for that information. I did not know that. Glad I found out now.

I totally had not read the fine print!

It’s neat to know that the certification date is right there on the cert page, too.

I only recently found this out myself. I was bidding on some tokens and noticed the same message on the cert page. It is nice to know the certification date (would be even nicer for all coins) and it's something that can help track down dates for those of us that are interested in slab generations (as well as tracking grading in certain time periods).

Exceptionnal coin/essai and very nice gesture from @kazuma78 !
Essai or patterns are the only way to have those denominations (5 cts, 10 cts) prior to Napoleon III

Yes, there is a gap, from the Directoire to Napoleon III. There is no (AFAIK) circulation copper bronze in between. Only a small billon 10 cts under Napoleon I

Between those two, you have to have patterns if you want bronze/copper
