France 5 Francs 1949 Open 9

I’m trying to find more information about this variety. The closed 9 variety is listed in the Standard Catalog of World Coins but not the open 9 variety. Numista.com lists it as a variety of KM#888b.1 and until recently that listing stated 5 known. “5 Known” was recently removed from the numista listing.


I’ve posted this on other coin forums but haven’t had much success. If anyone has any information about this variety or where I could possibly find information it would be most appreciated.

I think you have something special. I wasn't even sure that particular variety existed, every example I've seen was closed 9.
