    Looks like it has environmental damage. Nickels are actually made from a 75% copper 25% nickel alloy, and will discolor, especially it spent time in the ground. Metal detectors on this site have posted lots of discolored nickel pics

    Bottom line...review your photo(s) BEFORE posting...if they're not focused/clear and detailed, sized, etc...then don't post them. Re-take, re-review, etc. until you have one or two that can be seen well enough...it's not rocket science.

    Too blurry. In 1964 they made billions of nickels. Keep searching through rolls, etc.. Good luck. Coin collecting is a great hobby.

    Welcome to CT Dan. If you do a search on Coin Talk (upper right corner) you will find previous posts about copper colored coins. About 99% are from toning, which is environmental damage, or even a school science project. As for photos, you can also do a search here and get some great advice on how to take and post good photos.
