    Your Copper Plated Zinc Cent.. the plating has been compromized exposing the inner zinc. That is Environmental exposure damage. The issue on the Reverse is probably old adhesive and another cent that was stuck to it left an impression on it. None of what you see would happen during the minting of the coin.

    That cent will probably be gone in a few years... dust in the wind...
