I found this coin for sale. They're asking $1,000. Anybody know anything? image.jpg image.jpg

    I think it's spelled Tokin'.

MAYBE it's a half ounce of gold, but that thing just screams "cheap plated garbage" to me. And even if it's legitimately half an ounce of pure gold, that's a lousy price.

:wacky: I posted my message after finishing 18 hours at my job.. My intention was to show that this coin does exist and that it has some value. Even the $1000.00 OP coin is way overvalued if it were real. I think it's ugly and also question its authenticity just like everyone else.

It's been roughly handled, but I don't doubt that it is indeed solid gold. Still there should be no premium over melt for something like this.

Considering the 1/10th ounce one also has the date that way I would hardly call it an error. Since it is to celebrate 100th anniversary, I am guessing they made it look like both 1986 and 1886 on purpose.

Your guess is correct. It was made that way intentionally. Not an error.
