I was browsing through an album at a B&M last year and found this Mercury (along with several other nice Mercs) in the album. The images are by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.
I recently learned the 1916's and I think some of the 1917's were struck with higher relief. You can really tell it with your coin. Very nice.
What a terrific coin. Tremendous strike, and (under the right light) color to die for. These images ought to be in the dictionary next to the term "keeper." Keep these images in mind for later discussions on "original skin" vs. AT. No better example is to be found.
