Hi, I purchased my first box of quarters looking for “W” quarters, no “W” quarters but I found this strange quarter. It looks like two sides glued together. I never found a counterfeit, so knew the experts on Coin Talk would be able to let me know

Welcome to Coin Talk. How much does the coin weigh? I could be what you said. If you would please post a clear closeup of the edge, that would help determine what you have. Thank you. :)

It is a real Quarter. It encountered a harsh chemical that erroded the copper center around the edge.
We have seen a few like yours here in cointalk.

It's a damaged quarter and yes, it's real.
