These old and well traveled coins are typically not very valuable at all. But where else can you hold that much history in your hands for a mere bucks or two?
I also like to think, when going through my grandfather's coins, that they've touched his hands, and maybe my grandmother's hands, as well. And i get a little of them. Her gran is in those coins. That's pretty cool in my book!
It's actually a V Nickel, not cent. The V is the roman numeral for 5 and the cents written underneath.

You can buy a roll of cull Liberty nickels, all with readable dates, for under $20, so they are still pretty readily available, making them less valuable, but always nice to find an honest older coin that is worn by years of circulation.
