They’re worth at least melt value which, in this case, is $26.40 (or $1.20 each). Nice find! Just curious... How much did you pay for them? Oh and they all appear to be cleaned. This leaves them with almost no numismatic value but they’re still worth their weight in silver and copper.
How good the score was will obviously depend upon the price paid. Now do your homework to see if there's a way to maximize potential.
By knowing how to identify cleaned coins. If interested in learning, there are many older threads that you'll find enlightening. $60 is very likely on the way high side depending on what else you bought, but as said above this is a good opportunity to do your homework in the hopes of maximizing value. If you wish to continue with this hobby, what you learn will offset any potential losses here.
Could it be that the way i took the picture i had a light right over them to try to get a good picture of them? Cause in person they have luster and not that many dings
It might be the lighting but cleaned coins will lack almost all luster and natural toning. Dings have nothing to do with cleaning. Here’s a helpful video on cleaned coins. Maybe try another picture. While you’re at it feel free to post the other stuff you bought too.
I removed the duplicate, redundant thread about these same coins. Left this one up since it had more replies.
Sorry - I assure you that my removal of the other dupe thread was only because it was reported. It would have escaped my notice otherwise. I did not initially realize they were on two different boards. I've asked the senior staff for a ruling on whether the same post in two separate CT boards counts as a duplicate thread or not. I've probably done the same thing myself at least once before, in the past, and had it slip under the radar. If the other mods rule that this kind of duplication is OK, I'll restore the other thread. But I rather doubt they will. Edit- the duplicate thread removal stands. I just learned something.
Take better photos in better lighting. use this pcgs grading page one coin at a time. be hard on your coins because pcgs and ngc will. https://www.pcgs.com/photograde/
