I volunteered to work for another girl today so she could visit a friend. A customer came through the drive through with change and I sift through it as it's going through our changer machine and found this. It's my first one and I only paid one cent for it! I love having it and wondering where all it's been. I think it's really neat to own something that old.

I want to edit my post with this reply I have a few posts down to whoever may want to "flame" me for getting this the way that I did.

"I do understand tellers getting flamed if what I found was worth alot of money but isn't it only worth a dollar or two in it's condition? In a way I think why should I do the work of going through peoples coins for them to benefit for it? If they don't want to educate themselves or take the time to look through it themselves then why should I for them?

Now on the other hand if it truly was worth something and the person needed it then yest I would say something. But I have a hard time thinking that I should go through a hundred dollars of coins for a customer and then give them the coins back when they don't want to take the time to do it themselves. Do you get my drift?"

Let me add one more thing. If a customer comes in and has a coin or a note and asked me about it then I would tell them what I know about it. What little that would be. I do have a customer that I was going through his change the other day and saw a wheat penny. I mentioned it to him and he didn't want it. He then told me about a 64 quarter that he had that he thought looked different and I told him that it was silver. I will tell a customer what they want to know if they ask or take the time themselves to try to learn about it.
