Well, I kept my word and went back to the coin shop this afternoon. It was great. I told them the truth and said I wanted to pay them back for their time. They were shocked...don't think that happens very often. I gave them all the foriegn coins, the pile of foriegn currency and 20 bucks. The owner said as a regular customer, I didn't owe them anything...but I just smiled, told them thanks again and took off.

Have any bust half experts looked closely at those pics I posted? I'm real curious which version you all think I have. Thanks.

Karma is great. I'm sure that shop will treat you right in future dealings.

This is a great story and you seem to have a very nice aunt or aunt-in-law lol. Have fun looking through it all and good luck.

    great story, more scans please

Thanks for the great story. I look forward to seeing more scans. Check your Cherrypickers guide & Breen etc for varieties on each coin. Look at the mint mark on that 20 cent S, it could be doubled like a $-sign. Have fun!

    Very best regards,

OK, here is another one. It's a valuable coin, but it's got some gunk on the obverse. I don't clean any of my coins, but I'm thinking it might help this one out. What should I do?

I wouldn't touch that coin if it were me. Send it to NCS and let them deal with it.

That would be fine with me. I've never cleaned any of my coins and I don't really want to start now. I'll contact them shortly. Thanks.

Think it might be an O-121, R.3 but I'm no expert and I'm still learning to attribute....wish Jim or some of the other experts would happen along. :)

Looks like some type of glue residue to me. NCS might be able to help you on this one.

Having the advantage of seeing it in person, that's what I thought. Some kind of glue or adhesive residue.

I believe the bustie is an O123 R1 variety. I say this because of the following.

First is the easy part, its a Large 0. Then looking at the obverse you can see that the 0 is leaning towards the left at the top making it closer to the 3. The reverse has the correct I to T relationship for several Overtons but looking closer you can see that the Left Sdies of the D and E are in line. D of United and E of E. Pluri....

Obverse #15 and Reverse T marriage.

Hope this helps and nice coin by the way. A distracting scratch on the Obv that would hold it down and a rim bump thats noticeable. Overall I would give it a F12 with Details.

Acetone might help this one but.............. Its not a cheap coin either. But then again, if you pay NCS their fees.... Me, I would take a shot at Acetone but I am sure others will disagree.
