Thank you, I have allready spoken to a man here in Iceland that has restored safes in the past. Did a wonderful job on a older one. He´s going to take in the fall and start working on him. I´m opting for black and gold. But I will not do so untill I have some info on the safe maker and if I find how it was originaly I'm going for that.

Lion keeps my coins safe :)

When I saw the safe I thoguht the box was metal. But I know were you are going with this but i´m going to see what the man that´s going to restore him says. I want the box to stay the same colour

How I imagine the safe could look, This is just playing around with photoshop and I see some more details in my head.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Copenhagen is in Denmark.
See photo of inside of door where it shows the name and city of the maker.
I don't have that alphabet on my computer, but the name of the city is easily translated.

Great looking piece, though. Congrats and good luck!

I knew it was in Denmark as we in Iceland learn Danish in school :) What I cant seem to find is the maker or any info on him in Denmark.

I have sent some quetions to Bruun Rassmussen to see what they think. I might get some reply or just get shot down but I do like the hunt :)

That is beautiful Siggi, and your good luck run is still going LOL! I think I would have it painted like wood , it would just blend into the room. I don't think anyone would even think it was a safe.

Congrats My Friend, let us know if you find out any info on it!

Well today I got some news from a safe specialist. And with some of his expert friends from Europe came to this conclution

It´s Uniqe, French, Sold in Denmark hence the Danish name, Maker and seller unknown to experts in Europe, The wood box came with it, It dates from the 1880´s to 1900´s, and it has to be restored to its original look, And I lost my face to the ground when he gave me a ball part figure.

I can not belive how lucky I was finding this little beauty and it will be restored to it´s original look ( as close as possible ) Wich is a wooden look as seen inside the door with the lion and knobs golden.

Glad to hear you found some more information out about it.

Was the response from the site I sent you? ***Nevermind just read your message to me***

    What was the ballpark figure?

I have an old American safe that I paid $50 for in '95. Can't bring it in the house because I have no room. I just liked the safe and at $50 it was a steal!!! I will have to get a pic of it.

I have an old safe from the 50's that I picked up at a second hand shop for $150. The owner just wanted to get rid of it since it could not be moved! I had to hire 5 guys and they needed to move it with a forklift. It bent the ramp on the truck.
Great place to keep coins and I am confident no one will walk off with it!
