Found a 1942 D silver nickel. What's the value?

Good philosophy. And, we must always keep in mind it is only a guide, and not carved in stone. I use the guides to give me a ballpark figure. Ebay listings are so out of whack I learned from CT to peruse sold item results for better values. But even the sold values aren't infallible, as fakes end up being purchased by the un-informed buyer. I now web search for listings not eBay for more realistic, pragmatic results...Spark
