One of my first cool finds in the rolls I'm going through. It's really worn but still neat! From what I read on The Lincoln Cent Resource it matches the t, u and t are stronger than the r and s and the We is very mushy. The only thing I can't see is that crack through the O. Just going from that website and what the Red Book say. My first guess at a variety!
That crack is an essential marker. There are actually two reverses with cracks there, one jagged crack, and one straighter. I'd think you'd be able to see the crack on this one, were it there.
The 2nd 2 in the date should be stronger than the 1st one, so that makes this the weak D variety. Still a nice coin with lovely originality.
Thank you! At least I can fill the space in my Lincoln folder for the 1922 D. Pretty cool for just finding this! I'm thrilled
That seems to look a lot like mine! So cool to see one that’s been (I’m guessing the correct term is “slabbed”), don’t be harsh on me if not, I’m still learning Thanks for sharing that @BadThad !
