found a 1916 standing liberty quarter what do I do with it?

    He got them as a kid, He is a coin collector, and didn't check them until many years later...Not sure I understand.

    ANACS will slab it.
    It matches johnnys characteristics and comparison charts.
    It will get fr2 in a ANACS slab.

    I understand. I have many coins which I haven't examined closely. Common wheats are just thrown in the wheat jar and not examined beyond date and mint. Silver nickels and common silver are in the same boat. I could have any number of errors or not. I just don't know since my attention was on older, less common coins.

    I just got my NGC submission kit tonight and confirmed they do NOT grade dateless coins. I suggest paying a little more to have a dealer send it to PCGS. If you ever want to sell it, you'll get a little more if it's PCGS certified as opposed to ANACS.

    sorry for the very late reply. I got my quarter back it was graded as f-2, 1916 SLQ.

    For now, I am holding on to it :)
