Recently an uncle of mine sent a stash of coins home with my mom to give to me. It was a stash of world coins which had Canadian, Mexican, Bahamas, Peru, England and Euros. The oldest being from 1984, until I found this. 104 years old, pretty cool. From what I've found its 90% silver, and this is the stars with circle obverse which is the more desirable variety. NGC shows a mintage of "1,570,000 est." And this is only for the year, not the variety. I've run out of time to s each this morning, but figured I'd share it here. What else can you tell me about this coin?

Here are mine. Both varieties. They made two different versions of the 1912 for the 1000, 2000 and I think 500 reis for some reason.
Nice finding, this is the "1000 reis estrelas ligadas" or linked stars for obvious reasons. 1.042.000 minted. They changed the reis in this year hence there are two types of 500, 1000 and 2000 reis for this year. Regards
I have the 2,000 in NGC MS65. Unfortunately with the Brazil market so weak probably worth under a $100 even in gem.
Couple of them that are worth probably less than $100. So little, in fact, that it makes little sense to sell them.
I like the fonts on the 1912 an 13...just classy looking to me. Those are great pieces to have in your collection.
