Found a $100 Mexican Coin

    Post #14 shows 1 peso = about US 5 cents, so 5 x 5 = US 25 cents

    Back in the 80s, you needed a pocket full of those $100 coins to buy the smallest item...the stores only wanted to deal in US dollars. I think they were worth a quarter back then, but the cashiers used a calculator to figure out the exchange rate which changed several times in a day.

    Gold coins were minted in the first half of the 20th century and include 50, 20, 10, 5, 2.5, and 2 pesos denominations.
    Since 1981, silver and gold bullion Libertads in one ounce and smaller fractional weights have been struck by the Mexican Mint.
