I have a few foreign bank notes that I inherited, and they look old! I know what countries they're from, but I don't know the date or value. Could you help? I'll post pictures below.

It does say 1946 on it. Is that the date?

When it comes to banknotes, the date on the note doesn't always correspond with when it was actually printed. Take American Currency, for example; the date on the note often corresponds from when the U.S. Senate confirmed the Secretary of the Treasury. The BEP is still printing Series of 2017 notes despite it being 2020. If the Secretary of Treasury resigned as in the case of Lloyd Bentsen in 1994, the next series of notes would change the series year to correspond with his successor, who was confirmed in January 1995. However, in the case of your note, I'd say that the date on your note probably corresponds roughly with when it was probably printed.

Series 1935H $1 Silver Certificates were printed as late as 1963.

The date is right on it, August 14, 1946. That is the issue date.

Mexico is one of the few countries I’ve seen that prints an actual issue date.
