I know this is an old thread but does anyone know where I could find a coin album for US minted Philippine Coinage? Whitman use to make a philippine type set album (#9526) and I woud even take one of those if it's in good condition. Any help would be appreciated.
Korea, Jordan, Iraq Nice question! I'm interested in foreign coin albums because I wanted to make a collection of every year of South Korea's six circulation coins. I found out that I had to MAKE them! There ARE Korean coin albums that are made in Korea, but I didn't like how they presented the coins: It looked like the coins were in direct-fit airtites placed in a board (similar to an FAO board, maybe?). I wanted my coins in ALBUMS, so I made them myself. What used was Dansco Co. "World Coin Library" blank albums (that come in various spine-widths), and used Dansco's blank "millimeter pages" to put my Korean coins in. I have my coins encapsulated in Airtites with black rings, so I have to use double-sided tape to tape together two pages to accommodate the Airtites. I used 32mm pages for the A-size Airtites, 37mm pages for the T-size, and 44mm pages for the H-size airtites. I had a local lithographic company label the front covers with a "brush"-style font to approximate the kind of lettering that Dansco uses on its "prepared" albums. I had to hand-letter (use bright gold acrylic paint) on the spine of my albums by using a stencil, because the litho company couldn't do the spines of my albums. It look a long time to get them all done, but the results were acceptable (to me). You can see my albums at youtube if you search "Korean Coins". I have also seen albums for Jordan, Iraqi and Syrian coins at a local coin shop. Valley Coin in Crystal, Minnesota sells these at this page on their website: http://www.valleycoin.com/index.php?cPath=9_409_1247 I wonder if anybody else has seen these?
Take a look here: http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?listcategories=action&parent=0905 . Be sure to look at each of the company/maker categories as well, in both the "album" and "holder" subindices. You should also call them and see if they have any odd other country albums as well. I have gotten Philippines, GB, and other European albums/holders from them as well over the last 30 years. They also may be able to order something for you.
