I liked the hand hammered 1921 Peace Dollars, if the machines were down, they hammered them out by hand, and rolling them on cylindrical cookie cutter dies sometimes too. You learn things from various resources, as you read.

 

I'm patiently waiting for pictures of a butterfinger toned quarter from the same member as we speak...

One of my favorite dealers calls 'em pennies. (Not the Penny Lady, but she's a favorite, too!) I've gotten used to it.

That's pretty far out there... In all seriousness, there were some pattern pieces minted on roller machines.

 

I'll have to check my collection and get back to you. So far all I can find in my stock is the milk chocolate ones.
