    I suppose he is correct a Pegasus is a Pegasi...but I must say it has to be accepted because in the case of Carthage the horse and the Pegasi represent the same story and communicate the same theme, the horse was a Punic Logo, displayed on all ships "the colors" and based on who the coinage was supplied to has a lot to do with the kind of "horse" you see.

    Ok im gonna slip this in here even though you already saw it-just for hahahs

    I had bough this coin, simply because it had a great design. The Coin is described as a Coriosolite Amorican Celtic Stater....approx. 20mm and 6.20g The piece is a Billon coin of "debased silver" The coin features a stylized head of Apollo? facing right and on the reverse a stylized Charioteer and Horse Boar below. This coin had been in a previous collection for over 25 years, but a very recent and wildly huge hoard was found on the Island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, located between Modern France (Brittany) and England....

    See the Article here...

    Also I found a great work shop software here....
    http://www.writer2001.com/exp0002.htm

    I played around with this for quite a while and I learned alot about what I am looking at when I look at Celtic coins, this also helps you with attribution, chronology and to understand the development and significance of the style of these great coins. These coins where circulated as Julius Caesars Army moved West, driving the Gauls towards the Sea.

    I'm the mythology person...
    Defined as a winged horse, but according to myth is a totally different species (other than 1 bizarre copy of a Greek myth, where ever other copy I have found states it isn't a horse, but something greater

    @Anoob

    You know how much I love Carthage! :thumb:

    And a Celtic Stater... An ancestor of mine could have held :eek:

    Rule Britannia!

    It may not be a horse to a mythology expert, but in my old eyes I see a horse with wings on Batman's, Anoob's and my coins. I'll concede to the expert however.

    No expert... just a kid who reads a ton (I'm a speed reader with high comprehension) about Mythology ;)

    Although I am in the process of making an essay on the subject of Pegasi... :greensmile:

    Whatever :D
