I would not have been a happy camper had I been collecting Morgan dollars back then. But I guess it was better than melting them, right? (GSA)
When I started out collecting in the mid 1970s I do remember buying BU Morgans for something like $3.75 or $4 each. I remember thinking that $45 for a BU 1928 Saint was insane. Of course I was a wee lad but damn I wisht I had spent the $50 bill I saved because it was a Series 1950 on that $20 coin.
I remember one of the coin stores in town had a gold $20 coin in the front window with a price of $50. Even as a young lad I really admired the design. That was 1960. Took me many years to be able to afford one, and it was much more than $50.
No problem. I think all Lincoln cents have him wearing a bow tie. A cent from 1928, P mint could be worth from $0.25 to $100 or more depending on condition. Scarcity, desirability and condition determine worth.
They technically belong to myself and two cousins, but they don't have any interest in them. I really need to go get an actual camera and get some images. I have a few other proof sets that I need to image as well.
