Since I am recovering from a cardiac ablation procedure on Thursday -- so far successful -- I am bored and have to lie around and rest for a week, at least. Let's see if between the various CT members we can post a complete set of (at least) the Classic U.S. Commemorative Silver series from 1892-1954. Only two rules are: --1. It should preferably have (to you) attractive toning, whatever that means; and --2. It would be nice if we could follow year order of the issues, or Red Book order for the years like 1936 when things got out of hand. Now, given the average American attention span of 1.47 seconds, I expect that chaos will descend in short order, and I am too old to referee. So I'll just start off, and the chips will fall where they may: 1892 Columbian Half Dollar, MS65 NGC Nice toning on this one! Enjoy! Best Regards, George Now, in an orderly world (stop that snickering, you cynics), this would be followed by either an 1893 Columbian half or an 1893 Isabella quarter. Talk amongst yourselves ...
I got this the other day at a Tokyo coin show. It doesn't show up so well, but this Sesquicentennial half has some light golden toning.
While all contributions are valued, your friendly, more-than-normally obsessive-compulsive amateur thread referee suggests that nice toned examples of the 1893 Isabella quarter and/or 1900 Lafayette dollar might restore my need for order. (I realize that is not a need that all others share.) Best Regards, George
Bravo ldhair, well done! And a pretty one she is, at that! Now, class, a 1900 Lafayette is up ... preferably toned? Best Regards, George
