1925 East Africa 5 cents. I had about 100 of those old Chinese coins and gave them all to a Chinese kid I knew in Seattle, just before I moved over here to Thailand. Wonder if he ever took any interest in them?

But this hole doesn't do much to detract from the stunning design of this 10th century copper coin that was struck in Quba, a town in what's now Uzbekistan.

AE fals (copper coin, its name comes from 'follis'). Samanids. Abd al-Malik I b. Nuh. Mpl. Quba 349 AH = 960 AD. Obv. Three concentric circles, in the second the Kalima, in the centre, a cruciform monogram formed from 4 x the name Muhammad, the centre ringlet being the first M! 26.5 mm, 3.16 gr. Zeno 69828. Album 1463.

I've been spending 100% of my time on the ancients side of Cointalk, but I also have quite a few world coins that I would be happy to share.

Here is one, a very large multiple cash coin from the Qing Dynasty, purchased about 15 years ago at auction:

Like typical "cash" coins, this piece is round with a square hole in the middle surrounded by Chinese characters, but it is unusually heavy and large (2½" in diameter), with attractive green patina and tan sediment all over, no corrosion or damage. Recovered from: Unidentified wreck sunk in the 1700s off Sumatra, Indonesia. With Robert Marx certificate.



The characters are so crisp and the surfaces are very nice. I almost think of this coin as a presentation coin.

Nice coin. I think your photos are inverted. Not sure on the date you have. It appears to be a later coin issued under Wen Zong (1851-61)
