    2008 Japan 10 Yen.

    The building on the obverse is the Phoenix Hall which is the main temple of the Byodoin Monastery in Uji Japan. It is also the oldest original wood building in Japan. 2008Japan10.jpg

    It is actually an Aztec pyramid not a Mayan Temple. The tiny lettering just below the step spells Teotihuacan, the location of the pyramid on the coin.

    I just looked it up and it was built by the Mayans 1000 years after it was abandoned the Aztecs came in and named it teotihuacan...
