    Let's go from there to "coins with squiggly lettering".

    (Arabic and other "squiggly" alphabets).

    I believe this ca. 1154-1166 gold Tari of the Norman king William the Bad of Sicily has Kufic inscriptions in addition to the Christian iconography. It's an early multicultural coin!

    PCGS MS62, population 5, none higher.
