This thread hasn't been active for a few days. To play off the above coin, how about People Named George:
    1804 combo.jpg

I found this coin listed for sale as part of a lot of 4 'non-US silver coins' at a local auction house. It was cleaned, but on an XF coin it's not a bad look. Same auction house that listed a medal as bronze, but was clearly (and hallmarked) 'argent'. Once in awhile those local auctions can be a bit of fun!

That is a really neat coin, Stork! A trade dollar of sorts? I have never seen one like that before.

OK, how about a 1745 George II shilling, marked Lima? Perhaps the silver was purloined from the Spaniards? 1745 GB shilling obv.JPG 1745 GB shilling rev.JPG

I had to look up that word:

"Tombac, as it is spelled in French, or tombak, is a brass alloy with high copper content and 5–20% zinc content. ... It is a cheap malleable alloy mainly used for medals, ornament, decoration and some munitions. In older use, the term may apply to brass alloy with a zinc content as high as 28–35%."
