    These were put out by excelsior shoe company in the early 1900's, These shoes were marketed to the Boy Scouts of America. Not every token has a hole in them, but the holes were part of the design. That way they could attach them to each pair of shoes. IMG_3227.JPG Because of the controversy of the design,. I would like to add that this symbol has been used for thousands of years, it was a symbol of fortune, happiness, peace and good luck. Among other things, just not what it was turned into during the first world war. IMG_3226.JPG I believe this second one is slightly newer than the first. There are many variety's to these tokens.     I have had this coin since I was 8 years old. It I the first world coin i have ever owned. spent over 20 years in my childhood piggy bank which I still have. 1959 Turkey.jpg
