Reckon this counts in the “token” category.

If you haven't got a penny, a ha-penny will do
If you haven't got a ha-penny then . . . how about an 18th Century Half Penny Trade Token from a taxidermist?

I love this coin! Do you know what they call the other thing? looks like a tongue. LOL. That's one coin I never owned. A Half cent. Always wanted to find one also metal detecting but fell short, again.

What other thing? The tongue-like protrusion you seem to be referring to is what gives that "Spiked Chin" variety its name. I believe it was caused by a small screw falling onto the die. Those striations in right obverse field that sort of look like a fingerprint are not, in fact, a fingerprint. They're also a hallmark of that variety. Maybe caused by the threading on the screw?

As of three years ago, I don’t have a mortgage anymore, which does admittedly help the coin budget somewhat. Our home is not terribly impressive (it’s a smallish, cluttered singlewide trailer out in the boondocks). But thankfully, now it’s paid for, and so is the land underneath it. (That was not the case only a few years ago.)

Sorry, we got off track. It’s 1804 or Draped Bust half cent, to the next person who wants to post.
