I've never bothered to have this thing certified, but my guess it's a fake:

 

Interesting. Did you weigh it? Why the cut marks I wonder.
I wonder what it's made of?

 

The photograph is from 2001, so my memory is hazy. I seem to remember the weight being at least nearly correct, but I suppose I should do something about it eventually.

 

It's strange. I've seen cut marks on a coin somewhere before. Maybe it's a sign to stay away from, as in it is a counterfeit? Look at the area of the cuts with a loop sometime. See if the metal is the same as the top layer. Understand? LOL.

 

That is as close as I will ever get to a Stella, very cool guys.
