i just love french banknotes from any era, the later ones are like mini works of art whilst the assignats are far more common than you would think and don't generally command a high price at sales. dave also did a superb paper on marrianne the allegorical femalt on many french coins and notes.

 

I find their financial history and demise very interesting. I don't yet own any. Have just admired others notes and read a little about them
