    E to left and Φ to right.
    Rev: Forepart of stag r. looking l.
    with palm tree to left.
    PARQENIOS to right.
    Grade: EF toned with great strike.
    Other: E-Φ Bee purchased in an NGC slab Ch EF 5/5, 2/5. Similar to Traite 1883.84. Magistrate Parthenios may be 350-360 B.C. Private sale 7/7/17. Ionia is present day Western Turkey.

    I almost showed a scorpion, but my daughter said it's an arachnid (8 legs) not an insect (6 legs), so I didn't.

    Obv: Laurerate head of Severus right. L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIIII.
    Rev: Elephant wearing cuirass walking right. MVNIFICENTIA AVG.
    Grade: gEF pretty much as struck. Well centered with 90% of legends clear.
    Other: Nice reverse with very clear plaid pattern on elephant. Sear 1766. Ex Heritage Jan 2013 auction 231304 Lot #61069 From Eye Appealing Coins 9/2013.

    44 - 39 B.C.

    12.39 gms, 27.1 mm
    Obv: Diademed bearded head right
    Rev: Naked Hercules seated left on stone (possibly an Omphalos stone)
    club resting on knee held with right hand. Monogram above right arm. BAΣΙΛ[?] / ATTAMB[?] to right, [Σ]ΩTHP[?] to left.
    Grade: gVF with sharp strike on good silver fabric. Coin is nicely centered
    with attractive toning. Some letters off the flan as noted with only rough planchet surface in exergue.
    Other: BMC 3. Listed in the Catalogue of the Greek Coins of Arabia, Mesopotamia, and Persia page 291 & plate LV #11. Coin may be dated
    269-273 a.s. = 44-39 B.C. The existence of king Attambelos I was unsuspected until 5 silver tetradrachms were acquired by a soldier in Mesopotamia and submitted to the British Museum in 1920. Purportedly purchased from BC Universal, New Britain CT in 2011. From private sale March 2014.

    May I be more specific and make the next theme Omphalos stone.

    Xoana were actually graven images or statues, and typically carved out of wood, but that coin does rock :D. Sorry, no Hannibal here...
