Chola 'foot' stater, issued in commemoration of Raja Raja I victory over the Cheras. The foot depicts the god Vishnu, deity of the Cheras.
The coin on the left is the common issue where the bottom right on the obverse has a floral/lotus image, however on the right is the scarce issue with the distinct foot and a bow (symbol of the Cheras).

"Areas" plural? How about two recent examples?

    Roman Republican:

    and Roman Provincial from Alexandria:

My very first acquisition - in October 2020, after a few months without numismatic activity (I was collecting modern coins but the mission was complete4) I decided I want a fresh start. I had to decide:
    - choosing a certain country and starting to collect it (didn't find a country to like the coinage that much)
    - collecting just what random coins I like (just didn't like the idea)
    - learning about medieval coins
    - learning about ancient coins
I like ancient coins much more so I decided to start this hobby.
Found an auction house (funny thing - never worked with them again just because their next auctions were quite expensive)
I bought this lot and it made me learn how to identify coins, my knowledge being very, very limited.
