This has stuck for a half hour now which shocks me since a common Athenian owl would do but I will repeat a Peloponnesian War (431-404 BC) period Sikyon with a Greek letter in exergue. You have to look hard to see it because it is a faintly scratched Phi in the obverse exergue. The one on the wings on the reverse is more bold. I am just guessing but I propose that this stater once belonged to a Greek who initial was Phi. No, I can't prove it. What I can prove is that these scratches made the coin cheaper for me while adding interest from my standpoint.
    g51395bb3105.jpg

Oh, maybe should not have duplicated the type so I'll throw in another coin from that date period. I know many of us have Classical period owls. I'll show one that people wanted to check for being solid and not fourree. Oops. it turned out is was fourree after all. Too bad. Unfortunately this is a bit too early style to be an official issue of the 'Emergency' 404 BC. It is just an ancient counterfeit. Too, too bad.

Spade time! Small square foot spade, State of Zhao 趙, City of Anyang 安陽. 350-220 BC, Hartill 3.182, Schjöth 23.

    image00085.jpg

I’d consider the tag glued to the back to be the mark of the previous collector (A German gentleman); it refers to the Schjöth number, the primary reference for Chinese coins in the twentieth century, for this type.

Next: a coin with earthen deposits.

This coin was originally intended to show the "mark from a previous owner".
    Valeria 12 Marks.jpg
The first frame shows an upside down "7" in scratches that look modern and I've assumed are from someone scratching something off of the coin. The other two little pock marks - one on obverse and one on reverse are not something I can't explain.

    Valeria 12.jpg

    Valeria 12a or b C. Valerius Flaccus B.C. 82
Obv: Bust of Victory right, letter X or X-like symbol behind,
Rev: C VAL FLA IMPERAT, legionary eagle between two standards inscribed H (Hastati) and P (Principes) EX S C between them. The H and P reference the first and second lines of infanty.

However that is now off topic as I was slow to post - so here in response to @AnYangMan's request is a coin with Earthen deposits:
