    Here's my favorite ever Ti. Quinctius (sadly now foolishly sold) plus the photos of it that I recently found in the "(Richard) Schaefer Binders" of the ANS Roman Republican Die Project (and thanks Rasiel Suarez, I forget if you have a username here to "@", for keeping Coryssa going! EDIT: There he is: @Suarez ).

    Ti. Quinctius. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.89 g, 9h). Rome mint, 112-111 BCE.
    Obv: Laureate bust of Hercules left, seen from behind, with club over shoulder.
    Rev: Two horses galloping left; a desultor riding the nearest one; •X above, rat below; incuse D•S•S on raised tablet in exergue.
    Ref: Crawford 297/1b; Sydenham 563; Quinctia 6.

    Obv: D N CONSTANTIVS P F AVG. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust, surrounded by border of dots. Rev: FEL TEMP REPARATIO // Γ to left // CONSЄ* in exergue. Soldier standing left, holding long oval shield with circular boss, and spearing fallen horseman; bearded horseman astride fallen horse, turning and reaching back with left arm (FH3), wearing short-brimmed Scythian helmet, ornate tunic, and trousers. "Centering dot" between soldier and horse. Dotted border.

    Note: Based on the weight distribution provided for "Large AE2" in RIC VIII, only 2 of 405 specimens are as heavy or heavier than this one (7.7g & 8.2g). One Constantius Gallus Fallen Horseman weighing over 8.10g is reported in ACSearch (Roma 13, 939); Doug Smith has reported a 9.5g (!) Cyzicus FH in his collection, c. 1997.

    Here is a large and heavy follis. The heavy examples, struck after the lighter introduced follis, ranged from around 16-18.5 grams. This example is slightly heavier.

    Anastasius, 491-518 A.D.

    Type: Large AE Follis, 39 mm 19 grams

    Obverse: DN ANASTASIVS PP AVG, Diademed draped and Cuirassed bust right, star on right shoulder (rare)

    Reverse: Large M, Epsilon below. Cross above M, star in left field, Mintmark CON

    I do have a 19g (18.76g, but only 32.5mm) Anastasius Follis, but my extra large Justinians (RY 12-15) are heavier. This one isn't the heaviest (c. 21g) or nicest, but it has the largest diameter at 45mm:

    Fantastic, such a clear horseman motif on the shield and little "ringlets" of hair under the crown. Nikomedia has a very distinctive style even year-to-year, I've got an RY 15 that must be the same engraver.
